We experienced the most dreadful, heartwrenching, and heartstopping moment of our lives last nite when Anaqin suddenly got the fits due to his sudden increase in temperature.
We were watching tv and then suddenly my sista noticed that he jerked his body, began rolling his eyes and went to a seizure! I held him, shaking this body then Darl took over. It was a moment of panic and chaos in the house. We cried when he went unconscious and started to froth in the mouth. Darl turned him to his back tapping his back lightly and even sucked out the froth from his mouth to avoid him from choking.
In the meantime, my sista was on the phone with the ambulance officer crying and begging them to hurry to our place. Mum on the other hand recited some prayers and wiped his face with water. After a few minutes, Anaqin finally regained consciousness but was still in a state of shock. The ambulance officers came right after that. Darl carried Anaqin while I took all the necessary documents with me. Darl was strapped at the back of the ambulance with Anaqin while I sat on the front. This is the first time in my 32 years taking the ambulance! The journey to KK Womens & Children Hospital seemed like forever. We were then asked some questions regarding the incident.
Upon reaching the Children Emergency Ward, Anaqin was briefly checked and then a bullet was inserted into his anus. While waiting, we kept on sponging his body. The rest of my siblings came minutes later and took turns to see Anaqin at the temporary holding ward. After an hour, his temperature was taken and alhamdulillah it's gone down a little. We're told to wait another hour for another temperature check. Around 11 plus, his temperature was taken again and it has gone down to 37 degrees. The doc then went to give him a thorough check-up. We asked if Anaqin needs to be admitted but the doc said that it's not necessary therefore we brought him home but were advised to keep on monitoring his temperature so that it won't rise again as it might coz the fits to reoccur again.
We took turns to sponge and took his temperature. After he had his milk tho, he vomitted everything out including lotsa phlegm. Changed him to light clothing and coax him to sleep. We also placed a little water mattress underneath him to help absorb the heat of this body. We were just too paranoid to sleep so we kept vigil beside him for the whole nite. Darl finally fell asleep around 9 plus in the morning but I still can't. After giving him a bath, Mom forced feed the paracetamol to him. He managed to swallow down the medication but after a while he coughed out some more phlegms.
Later in the afternoon he made quite a big amount of poo (coz he didnt poo yesterday), then I gave him some milk and off he went to sleep. This time round I placed the water mattress underneath his head and neck. I checked his temperature and sponged him every 15 mins. The aircon was kept on to keep the room cooling. After a while, when his temperature was stable at 36 degrees I dozed off as well. We woke up 3hrs later feeling refreshed. He had his evening bath and since my sista's son came to visit him, he's back to his active self playing with him.
Right now we're still monitoring his temperature and sponging him. As for me, I'm feeling very groggy due to lack of sleep and zilch appetite to eat. The test HE's given to us has certainly make such a great impact on our lives and we shall remember this for as long as we live.

My Sick Little Hero
my much better looking but still weak little hero
Anaqin was running quite a high temperature early this morning and refused to drink his milk (which contains his fever medicine) at all. He got it from the helper whose not been well for several days now.
Smsed my boss whose in Australia at the moment and told her abut Anaqin's condition and since the server has been down since yesterday (due to the earthquake in Taiwan) and is still down today, I asked her if I can just work from home instead. She agreed. Made a few phone calls to settle some work stuff. Anaqin woke up feeling weak and hot. Bathe him and try giving him the milk & medicine again but he rejected it. He even dun like me to paste the fever patch on his forehead so I sponged him instead to reduce his temperature.
My poor boy slumped on bed watching tv feeling all weak coz he refused to have anything to eat while I continued sponging him. Eventually around 1pm he agreed to drink his milk & medicine. Alhamdulillah. Right after his feed he felt much better and baru la nak duduk. We've also managed to coax him to using the fever patch. Last temperature taken was 37.3 .... alhamdulillah. He's also beginning to get runny nose but we've still got medication for that. Hope he'll get better soon..insyaallah.
On a separate note, the helper celebrated her 21st birthday last Christmas. Soon in 2yrs time, she'll be getting married and by then I guess I have to let her go and either make do without a helper or get a fresh new one.

RECIPE - Nutella Frosted Cupcakes
Nutella Frosted Cupcakes
Ingredients
10 tbsp(140 grams) butter, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 3/4 cups (200 grams) sifted all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
Nutella, approx. 1/3 cup
Preparation
Preheat oven to 175°C.
Line 12 muffin tins with paper liners.
Cream together butter and sugar until light, 2 minutes. Add in eggs one at a time, until fully incorporated. Don't worry if the batter doesn't look smooth. Add vanilla. Stir in flour, salt and baking powder until batter is uniform and no flour remains.
Using an ice cream scoop, fill each muffin liner with batter. (I filled the muffin liner with 1 spoonful of batter then layered it with some nutella and topped it off with the batter). They should be 3/4 full, if you're not using a scoop. Top each cake with 1 1/2 tsp Nutella. Swirl Nutella in with a toothpick, making sure to fold a bit of batter up over the nutella.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
Makes 12.

Banana Almonds Muffins
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 tsps. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups mashed very ripe bananas (about 4 large)
113g butter, melted
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sliced almonds (toasted)
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 175°C.
In large bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir in sliced toasted almonds.
Mash bananas. In small bowl, blend bananas, melted margarine, milk, eggs and vanilla. Add to flour mixture, stirring only until just blended (do not over mix). Fill muffin cups.
Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until golden brown and toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Let stand several minutes before transferring to wire rack to cool.
Makes 12 large muffins.

Muffins For Christmas Gifts
You guys might be wondering y dun I baked the muffins all at one go, the reason is becoz I want to give to them freshly baked muffins. They leave on different days for their long leave or holidays so I will only bake them the night before.
On a separate note, yours truly turned 8mths preggy today! Baby's very active lately and suka sgt buat the kallang wave in my tummy. Cute kan! Few nights back, I experienced terrible leg cramps. Sakit giler! But the ever positive me always remind myself to endure .. coz afterall it's part and parcel of being pregnant kan! ...

Wet Weekend Update
Friday - Planned to go down to ikea after work but changed mind and thought of going either on Saturday or Sunday. Oh yeah, met Mayang & her other half in the train.
Saturday- Ikea trip cancelled as darl had wedding deco to do.
Sunday - Received a rather pleasant MMS from my friend who just discovered that she's pregnant! Congrats Siti! We're kawan2 sepejuangan...had our first child in 2004 and now the second one in 2007..insyaallah..how exciting kan! Well, Ti tak lama lagik aku da nak terberanak pon ... while u still got a long way to go ... so pelan2 kayoh hah... mukakakakaka.
It's been raining since morning. We actually planned to go ikea in the afternoon but ujan makin lebat plak. At last after magrib baru kita pegi. Had to call for a cab coz I know it's impossible to hail a cab in this kinda of weather. Despite the rain and all, there was a huge jam at the road heading towards ikea! Once we got into ikea..went searching for the cookie jars ... walked around a bit and head to the counter to pay for our purchases. As usual..the crowd are mostly cinones with their kids who melanyak the beds and making the showrooms mcm rumah mak bapak dorang! Masok tangan kosong kluar pong tangan kosong! So typical of them! Buat semak aje!
We wanted to take a cab but changed our mind upon seeing the bloody long queue so we took the bus instead. Must make a return there one of these days when there's less crowd so that I can walk around in peace. Mcm tak puas gitu.

Brief Update
Hi all, it's been 6 days since the absence of my helper and I'm proud to say that everything is going smoothly..alhamdulillah! Here's a brief recap of what happpened last week.
Thurs - Met MK for lunch @ Shaw House. We had LJS. It's been quite sometime since we last catch up on each other. Thou it was a brief one, it was great. And thanks babe for the animals jigsaw that you bought for Anaqin. He simply loves it thou he needs my help in assembling the jigsaw.
Fri - Went off from work early @ 3.45pm and headed straight to the airport to send off my helper. We brought Anaqin along and as expected he cried upon seeing her entered the gate. Darl brought him downstairs and ended up buying the huge M&M chocolate figure where you can put the M&M chocs into it - just to bribe him. At night he asked for his bibik several times and we distracted him with something else.
Sat - Alhamdulillah, he longer asked for his bibik. Let Anaqin bathe in his bathtub ... filled it up with bubbly water and dunked some of his rubber animals together into the tub. He loves it and at times refused to get out from the tub. EHE. The rest of the day was spent watching tv together, hving our meals together, and cleaning up the room together. Precious bonding time indeed!
Sun - Went to my cousin's daughter wedding @ Marsiling with the rest.
Mon - Did the laundry, changed the bedspread despite my tummy feeling real down. I had to practically hold the right side of my tummy while walking coz it's just too straining. I'm so desperate for a massage right now but the makcik urut is busy lah. Oh btw yours truly is now in her final lap of pregnancy! Touched my 7th month mark last Wed! Yipeeee. How exciting! Just 3 more months or so before the baby boom! Something cocked up at work and my boss wanted me to come back tmrw to settle some stuff! How typical! I can never hv my leave in peace!
Tue - Brought Anaqin along to the office in the morning. Called for a cab as it had started to rain. Thankfully Anaqin was well behaved and just sat beside me scribbling on the papers that I gave him and reading his book that he had brought along. He didnt mind when some of my colleagues carried him around :) Spent abt 2 hours or so settling some work stuff before heading home.
Wed - Mimi turned 17 today while Anaqin turned 27mths today! Had a little cake cutting for Mimi at night. Anaqin pon sama sibok nak blow the candles and cut the cake. HEH! Oh btw Mak managed to call Cik Aisah (the makcik urut) and I've fixed an appointment with her this Sunday morning for the urut session. Oh my, I so can't wait for it!
Well that's abt it for now. Will try to update again when time permits.

Her Home Leave
My helper's going on her home leave this Friday and boy am I worried coz Anaqin is so attached to her. I wonder how he'll take her absence for 10 days!
I'm still contemplating on whether to bring Anaqin along to the airport to send her off or not. Some peeps advised me to just bring him so that he'll know that the helper's gone for a while and won't keep on looking for her whilst some advised me against it coz takut dia melalak plak.
Haizzzz...fening kapala dibuatnye. Darl suggested that we go for a short getaway to keep Anaqin's mind off the helper. We're thinking of going to Turi Beach or worse to worse JB or Malacca. I think all of us deserved a short trip even if it's for a few days. We'll see how it goes.

M.O.M.O.K
When I came back from work last nite, Mak told me that Anaqin dragged my helper into my Mak's room (time mahgrib) and told her "Mak, mak, ader momok dalam bilik mummy!" "Mak come lah!" My mak patted him and told him "Alah momok tu tak kacau lah, takpe nanti mak sholat so the momok will go away ok?" Anaqin just nodded his head.
I thought that was the end of it but I was wrong! Anaqin drifted off to dreamland while watching tv and that was like 9pm. His bedtime is normally at 10 plus. He slept throughout the night but around 1 plus he soon got restless. Refused to drink his milk and kept snuggling to me while covering his face and peeping through this blanky to look at the windows. My bed is facing directly towards the windows and the curtains are wide open. The windows were closed tho coz the room is air-conditioned. Anaqin then patted me and whispered to me ... "Mummy, Akin scared la ... nak kuar ... then pointed towards the door." To be frank I wasn't even scared, in fact I was angry at whateva THING(S) that was disturbing my son! Anaqin soon started crying and asked for his Daddy who's not back from work yet. I've got no choice but to bring him out to the living room. He then suggested that he wanted to watch Gromit. Brought him back to the room. Drew all the curtains and on the cartoon.
Anaqin soon got restless and asked for his daddy again. Called darl and he spoke to Anaqin. Kesian plak biler tengok airmata dia meleleh when talking to the daddy. He kept saying "Daddy cepat lah balik, Akin scared lah." Darl came back ard 3 plus and upon seeing his daddy, Anaqin terus nangis konon mengadu nasib la tu. Darl told me to go back to sleep and he took over taking care of Anaqin. I don't know what time the duo finally fell asleep but I certainly hope that Anaqin won't encounter the same experience again tonite..erm today malam jumaat babe.. HEH.

Gain IQ vs Friso 3
It's been nearly a month since I changed Anaqin's milk formula from Gain IQ to Friso 3. And we're loving it! We can now say goodbye to constipation (for Anaqin) and expensive milk formula (for me)!
I'm now thinking of putting my little bun on Friso too (if I fail to breastfeed).

Nasty Bug
Had the symptoms on Thursday. Got worse yesterday. Runny nose plus cough. And since Anaqin too showed signs of getting the nasty flu bug, off we went to see a doctor yesterday morning at the Tampines 24hrs clinic. Was attended by Dr. Jazlan who prescribed some mild medications for me. Anaqin too was given some medications to stop the flu. Was given 1 day MC for Monday.
Took the medications and off to lala land. Woke up feeling groggy and all. Anaqin's body temperature seemed to rise a little. Gave him the flu and fever medicine. Later in the evening, took another dosage of medicine and slept again.
This morning, woke up feeling slightly better but not fully recovered so sms my boss to let her know abt my condition. Anaqin on the other hand was feeling much better. Alhamdulillah! Right now i'm resting at home in a cool rainy weather.
Oh yeah, i need to purchase a ticket for my helper for her home leave this coming 24 Nov. Once this is done, baru la bleh tido lagik. What a bliss...erm minus the nasty bug of course.

The Result
I just had a call from Dr. Aziz's clinic. The result of my vaginal swab is out and it's negative of any bacteria and such. Syukur alhamdulillah!! However I did informed the nurse that I had stopped spotting on Friday however, I spotted again last nite. This afternoon when I checked again, the spotting has stopped tho'. She told me to finish the antibotics given and monitor the spotting. However, I should be alarmed and seek medical help immediately if the bleeding turns bright red. Due the spotting I had last nite, I took a cab to work this morning. And I think I should go out from my house earlier than usual so that I can take my time to walk slowly instead of the brisk walking that i always do. For now, I can only pray to HIM to give me the strength to go thro' the rest of the pregnancy smoothly and let the baby inside me grow healthily without any complications. Insyaallah.

Spotting Again
I had spotting again on Tuesday while at work. Shocked when I saw my pantyliner drenched in light brown stains. It got me worried when the spotting went on for the rest of the day, followed by light tummy cramps. Rested with my feet up for while but it didnt help that much.
After work had a farewell dinner for Charissa with the rest of the gang @ Newton Food Centre. Food was delicious but I could'nt eat much as my tummy was slightly churning.
Woke up the next morning for work but changed my mind when I realised that I was still spotting. Sms my boss abt it. Called the clinc first before heading there, in case the doctor won't be ard. Met Dr. Aziz, told him my condition, did the scanning. Cervix is still closed, placenta not low, baby not touching the placenta. Alhamdulillah. Doc took a swab of the brown discharge for further investigation at the lab. He suspected that I might have some vaginal infection. I asked how serious will it be. He said some can be treated easily by antibotics where else some serious ones might lead to baby having breathing problems when born. Ya allah! Kecut perot sekejapan!
I was given 3 days MC to have plenty of rest and some antibotics for consumption. Up to date, I'm still spotting light brown discharge. I can just hope and pray for the best for the well being of myself and the little one inside me...insyaallah.

Some update
On my way to work this morning, received an sms from one of my bestest friend, Pam. She has finally given birth after 17hrs of labour! Baby weighs 3.7kg! That's HUGE for a petite girl like her! Can't wait to visit her and the baby soon. :)
On another note, I realised that we're into our 26th day of fasting! How time flies! The holy month of Ramadan will be leaving us soon :( but I'm still grateful that I've been able to fast steadily (except for the 1 day due to heartburn). I'll be 6mths come next week and I've outgrown all my pants & such. Last Tues, I went shopping for some bottoms at Mothers En Vogue @ Delfi and Mothers Work @ Forum ... sib baik lar these shops are nearby to my workplace .. HEH.
Oh yes, some of you guys had requested for my latest pics (suka kan korang nak tengok badan ako yg semakin mengembang nie! :p) ... hmm ... korang tunggu aje la eh for the gambo raya nanti ... insyaallah i'll post them here. Ooohhh yesteday my sista passed me the zakat money that I ask her to change. Jgn marah eh ... new plastic notes hokay! So duit zakat - DONE. I've yet to buy kain samping for Anaqin tho', thought of goin to Geylang this Fri after work to find it (God help me!) I hvnt step into the bazaar Geylang. Wonder if I'll survive the crowd and such!..BLUEK! I've yet to collect my baju kurung & Anaqin's. Will do so this Sat. Darl's 2 pasang baju kurung da siap bergantung dlm wardrobe :)
What else eh for the raya preparation? ... Oh cookies! This time round, I only made the kuih makmur, the rest of the kuihs are done by mom & the helper. Tu pon mcm nak patah pinggang ako dok berjam-jam mengetip tu kuih. Ish! This coming Sunday, I intend to make Kek Batik and either Cheesecake or Marble Cake for the house & for MIL. Mom has volunteered to make the Kek Kukus so tak yah lah ku sibok nak mengacau tu gula hangus into the batter! I tell you ... it's Hard work babe! Apart from that I think everything is done lah. Cuma nak kemas2 skit, pasang new curtains & bedspread. But all that must be done on Raya eve, baru semangat! Mom told us that this year she'll just order the ketupats..ala tak best la camnie..baru nak polish skill menganyam ketupat. Tapi acturi bagui jugak la, kalau tak nak menganyam nye satu, nak isi beras nie lagik, nak merebus lagik..fuyooohhh takes time I tell you!
Ok lah enuff of my rambling. Will try to update again before Raya. In the meantime, selamat menjalani ibadah puasa yeah kawan-kawan ku! :D

Of Heartburns & Heartache
On Wednesday morning, I woke up to a tight chest and a slight difficulty to breathe. Even trying to turn to the other side of the bed and getting up seemed so difficult. I'm experiencing one of the worst heartburns! Realised that I'm not in a fit state to go to work therefore I sms my bozz to let her know that I'm not coming to the office and will be seeing a doctor. I've only got 1 miserable MC left for the year (!) but I guess this is something serious and cannot be taken lightly so off I went to see the doc.
Before I left the house, I broke my fast and drank a mug of hot milo. Doc told me that there's a lot of acid in my tummy and advise me to stay away from spicy food for the time being. Oh yes, stress can also trigger a heartburn.
Later at night Anaqin plak kena diarrhea! Dunno what was it that he's eaten. My poor boy had a go every 1-2hrs! He woke up several times at night as his tummy hurts whenever he need to poo and his bum was all red and swollen due to the frequent pooing. My heart ached so much seeing him crying in pain! How I wished I could take it all from him and bear it myself :(
The next morning, darl called me in the office and told me that he's decided to bring Anaqin to see the pediatrician as his diarrhea is not getting any better. The pediatrician advise to stop giving his normal milk formula and gave him a tin of mamex lactose free formula for the time being. She also gave some antibiotics, wash and antiseptic cream for his bum.
As predicted he wouldnt take the lactose free formula. Nak tak nak, I told the helper to make his usual milk formula but dilute it. Only put 1 scoop instead of 3 scoops of milk powder. Baru la dia nak minum his milk. Though his bowels are not so frequent now, he still cried whenever he poo and whenever we wash him coz his bum is still red. At night, he eventually drank the lactose free milk. He woke twice to poo and that's about it. Alhamdulillah.
He woke up asking for milk before I left for work this morning. Told the helper to give him the lactose free milk and he drank it again! Good boy! I've yet to call home to check on his latest condition but hopefully he's on the road to speedy recovery...insyaallah.

And the baby's gender is .....
Went for my monthly check-up yesterday and as usual it was crowded. After registering myself, took my weight (gained 1kg alhamdulillah), took the blood pressure and the urine test, off we went to SMR Maid Agency to renew my helper's work permit. I didnt know that the agency had moved from Kembangan Plaza to somewhere near Mak's place so we made our way there since we've got time to kill.
All the staff at the agency are Malay and friendly..nice! And the cost for the renewal of work permit?..a mere $65 compared to the other agencies that can charge up to $150!
It was finally my turn to see the doc. Baby wasn't really active in the tummy while we're doing the scanning, al-maklom lar mommy posa, baby pon posa jugak kan!..ehehe. But alhamdulillah, baby has gained weight from 187g @ 17 weeks to 390g @ 21 weeks! I raised my concern abt not feeling baby's movement yet .. just fluttering movements once in a while. Doc told me not to worry and to expect to feel the full blown kicks and movements in the next few weeks to come. :)
The result of the compulsory blood test and the optional triple test are out too. Alhamdulillah everything is fine except that my white blood cells are slightly high than normal. Therefore in my next visit, doc will have to take a swab from my vagina for further test. He said there's nothing to worry, as my urine test has been clear so far. He said it might be some minor vaginal infection due to the change of hormones in the body system.
Ok back to the soalan cepu emas..the question that have been running thro ur head..am I expecting a baby boy or baby girl? I'll tell u the answer..right after the commercial break!..ahahahaha..allalalalala..
Ok ok serious now..I am expecting a playmate for Anaqin..which means this playmate gets to use Anaqin's pre-loved baby clothes & other stuff, gets to play Anaqin's toys and read Anaqin's books! So in another words, I'm expecting a boy!! ahahaha..most of guys guessed wrong kan! :p
I know I may sound like a sour grape here but I've always preferred boys to girls. However, I think the husband is a tad dissapointed. Since I've told him before that I wanna stop @ two, he's pleading with me to try for another one, hoping that it will be a girl the next time round. Ish akak nie blom lagik terberanak, da nak ckp pasal another baby. I just told him, we'll see how it goes lah!

Bouncing Back
On my way home last evening, the helper called me and asked me if I'm bringing Anaqin to see a doc later coz he cried whenever she washed his bum after he passed motion. His bum is all red and sore due to the frequent passing motion. I've already told her to apply the antiseptic cream onto his bum to ease the soreness. So the worried mommy continued her journey home and at the same time sms her cik missy friend (MK) and asked her whether I can buy any medicine for diarrhea for toddlers from a pharmacy. Cik missy replied with some useful answer and tips. Thanks nyah!
When I reached home, Anaqin greeted me with all smiles, not a sign of sickness at all..alhamdulillah. During break fast, he too ate some rice. After magrib, we went to get our measurements done for the baju raya. I told the nyonya to make my baju slightly bigger as I'll be abt 6mths during raya. Nyonya was shocked and commented ... "Aiyah now lu sudah 5 bulan ar? Apasal perot kecik aje?" CHET! Nyonya nie pon! Da perot ku mcm gini, nak wat apa lagik kan! *bluek*
Reached home ard 10pm, got Anaqin changed to his PJ and alhamdulillah so far he did not pass any motion. The last one was at 5.30pm. I guessed all the harmful bacteria and stuff has been passed out! Syukur!
Oh yes, the house got itself a new coat of paint ... shades of apple green and lemon yellow. Sungguh ghairah my bros and darl paint the house! It's gonna be a pleasant surprise for my mom when she gets back from her umrah trip tmrw! :)

What's Been Happening ..
I had to take an urgent leave yesterday when Anaqin's temperature soared during sahur. Told my helper to put his fever medicine into his milk then I feed him. Wanted to paste the fever patch but alas all are gone. My poor boy couldnt sleep well as he was feeling uncomfortable. Me & darl couldnt sleep well too as we kept waking up to check on him.
Last nite he had a bout of mild diarrhea maybe due to the fever. But alhamdulillah, this morning as I was getting ready to go to work, he woke up to ask for his milk and sounded n looked much better.
On another note, it's gonna be 4 days of fasting today and alhamdulillah I managed to fast without any difficulties. Yours truly turns 5mths today .. wow in abt 4 mths or so I'm gonna see my babe! How exciting!

Outdated Entry
Work has been crazy therefore the lack of entry from me. Nevertheless here's a brief recap of what happened last weekend.
We had a little kenduri in conjunction with Mom & Ann's umrah trip in 2 wks time. And at the same time, we had a little party for Anaqin's 2nd party mainly for his close cousins. I was'nt feeling that good that day as my tummy felt really heavy at the bottom part and I had to practically hold my tummy while walking coz it felt as if it's dropping! I guessed it's also coz I've stuffed myself too much! All in all the whole event ran smoothly and at the end of the night Anaqin was dead beat (but happy) and knocked off early to bed.

Little Bun Update Part II
So I told the husband about the light brown spotting that I had on Sunday night. And so the husband freaked out. So off we went to see Dr Aziz yesterday afternoon. So our worries were cleared as the Dr said that the brown spotting was quite normal and harmless. So I realised that I've gained about 1kg so far. So we've also found out the baby's gender. And so we're very HAPPY indeed. And so I just couldnt help smiling all the way. So I smsed the news to family members and close friends.

Little Bun's Update
Anaqin's birthday cutting cake photos hv yet to be posted as it's still in darl's D70s. Once he gets around to uploading the photos I shall post them here.
I was feeling heavy in the tummy and had slight pelvic pain when I walked recently so on Saturday I asked the makcik urut to come and urut me. Rupa-rupanye, my little bun had parked very low on the bottom right hand corner. That explains the frequent toilet visits and heavy feeling/pain while walking.
The makcik also commented that little bun's nadi was kuat ... "hmm active budak nie" :)) After the urut, I felt so much better..hopefully little bun won't stay too low down there anymore..
Last night, during my last visit to the toilet before I head to bed, I had a little shock. I discovered some light brown spotting on my pantyliner! Panic sekejapan. Darl and mom were not ard so I decided to jus keep it to myself. Rest in bed praying that the spotting would stop.
This morning, when I checked my pantyliner, I was glad that there's no more spotting. Syukur alhamdulillah. I guess the spotting were from the remains of the shrunken sac. Will let Dr Aziz know when I go for my check-up this Saturday.
To date, I'm now in my 4th month and the tummy's starting to show and I'm beginning to feel the baby slight moves once in a while ... masyaallah..it's simply amazing..

The Weekend
I was without a helper for the whole of yesterday. There was a sort of carnival cum bazaar at the Indonesian Embassy for all foreign Indonesian workers and we had given her the permission to have the day off. I was happy that Anaqin didnt cry or looked for my helper when she's not around. But I must admit that it's not easy. I couldnt get my afternoon nap just cause Anaqin refused to have his.
Later in the afternoon, went to Haida's wedding with Mom and the rest. And that's where Anaqin decided to have his afternoon nap. So I've got to hold him throughout the lunch coz the husband couldnt come along due to his seminar.
Reached home, gave Anaqin his bath and let him play with his cousin while I watch a bit of tv. After mahgrib, the helper came back and I slept. Woke up ard 10 to have my shower then off to bed again.
Woke up at 4am to have my sahur and went to sleep again but my stomach was acting up. Got up, ease myself and off to bed again. But the tummy ache didnt stop there. I had to wake up another 3-4 times! Gosh I think it must something that we ate at the wedding yesterday coz mom and the rest got the same problem too.
Initially I just wanted to take the morning off and come to work later in the afternoon but when there's no progress of the diarrhea stopping, I decided to go to the doctor instead. Got 2 days MC but I'll be coming back to work tmrw as there's just too much work to do.
Right now, I'm gonna join Anaqin and have a little nap..hv a great Monday everyone!
Later in the afternoon, went to Haida's wedding with Mom and the rest. And that's where Anaqin decided to have his afternoon nap. So I've got to hold him throughout the lunch coz the husband couldnt come along due to his seminar.
Reached home, gave Anaqin his bath and let him play with his cousin while I watch a bit of tv. After mahgrib, the helper came back and I slept. Woke up ard 10 to have my shower then off to bed again.

The Weekend
I was without a helper for the whole of yesterday. There was a sort of carnival cum bazaar at the Indonesian Embassy for all foreign Indonesian workers and we had given her the permission to have the day off. I was happy that Anaqin didnt cry or looked for my helper when she's not around. But I must admit that it's not easy. I couldnt get my afternoon nap just cause Anaqin refused to have his.

My Little Bun
Went for my monthly check-up. What a long 2hrs wait! Sometimes I really wonder what those people do inside the room for so long..binggit seh kena tunggu berjam-jam! Moreover I was there alone as darl had to work..so u can jus imagined my boredom.
It's my turn eventually..and of course I was super excited to see my little bun through the ultra scan. Upon scanning...my little bun was busy kicking and waving as if to say hi to me! Little bun was defintely one active babe! It's really amazing to know that I've a got a babe in me though my tummy is not showing yet. Oh yes, I've also raised my concern about my slow weight gain and my on and off appetite. He said, I should be thankful and try to maintain for as long as I can and not to worry too much as my little bun is growing well despite all that. Kembang kita sekejapan when he mentioned that I'm one of his prized patients..coz I'm still well maintained and looked unpregnant even at 12 weeks..HEH! I'm also given a new EDD date which is 15 Feb 2007.
Bought KFC for lunch as tekak nie cam feeling nak makan ayam plak. But after a few pinches of the ayam..I stopped. Yek eleh..tekak nie pon..tadik beriya-iya sangat nak cekik.
The same thing happened again at nite. Felt like eating hokkien mee..so went down to istanbul with darl and anaqin to have dinner. After a few forkful of noodles..I passed the plate to darl..who just shaked his head..sorry darling..our babe this time round tak kuat makan ler..ehehehe..

Super M
Eversince I got preggy, I've become more and more restless, tired and very the pemalas. My weekends now are spent lazing around at home. I would nap for 3hrs in the afternoon, and refused to go out even to go down to the shops nearby. When darl suggested goin out to chill, i turned him down flatly saying I've got no energy.
Yes, that's how bad i've become. I was'nt like this when I was expecting Anaqin. It's times like this when I felt really grateful to have my helper around. I cannot imagined how it would be like without her around. I wonder when this penyakit pemalas will last coz I cannot stand it myself.
On another note, I thought that my appetite has picked up but I guess I counted my lucky stars too early. There will days when my appetite will suddenly disappeared. Just like that. And getting nauseated from morning till lunchtime on some days. I'll be ending my 1st trimester in 2 weeks time (insyaallah) and I really hope that I'll get better by then.

All's Well For Now
Anaqin - well recovered from the nasty HFMD. Hyper active. Speaking in sentences now. Counting 1 to 10 in both English and Malay. Recognised most of the animals..as he's an animal lover. Loves watching Animal Channel, Mr Bean and 90% of the programs in Disney Channel. Can now say.."Please mummy/daddy/or whoever", "Thank you mummy/daddy/or whoever". Likes to shout when excited. Knows how to show affection to people even to his toys like the giant Barney, Elmo..etc. Books are his precious possession. Still don't like to eat proper food. Drinks loads of milk. All the things he do and hv achieved so far makes me wanna burst out of pride and love for him.
Yours Truly - Whaddeya know..i'm NINE weeks pregnant oredi..and am loving every second of it..ok maybe not the backaches and nauseating feeling. Appetite has improved. In fact dua minit dua minit lapar aje..ehehe..but i've learnt to eat in small portions. Managed to steer away from JUNK food. Abhor coffee. Abhor ciggie smell. Gets irritated easily. Still wearing old clothes. Must hv put on some weight tho'. Already starts massaging tummy and hips with Marks & Spencer Cocoa Butter lotion. Can't wait to see my babe in 3 wks time!

My Babes
The day has come to find out about the progress of the twins. Went to see dr. aziz yesterday. Before he did the scan, he told us that as cruel as it may sound, he hope that there's only one twin left coz based on the previous scan, the other smaller sac was much smaller and not growing well, therefore, he's afraid that the baby won't be healthy and it may lead to complications and all. Actually, I too had the instinct that there's only one baby left but didnt tell the husband about it..afraid he'll be dissapointed.
True enough..the other smaller sac had shrunk while the bigger one is growing well. Poor hubby..dissapointment written all over his face. But I redha and believe there's a hikmah disebalik nye.
Ok now to my other babe, Anaqin. My poor boy was diagnosed with Hand Foot & Mouth Disease on Friday when hubby brought him to see the pediatrician. He's been having sudden fever for the past 2 days and we noticed there's spots on his palms and feets. I thought he's getting the chix pox since he hvnt taken the chix pox jab but it's worse than that! I was shocked! It was so irony how he could have gotten it. He only went down to play at the playground twice this week! Doc said he's still in the early stage and hopefully he'll get cured soon. Right now he's being quarantined at home. No visits from the cousins are allowed. Poor boy. Actually being a pregnant woman, I'm much more prone to getting infected by the HFMD but I've got no choice but be tawakal aje.
Dugaan after dugaan..hopefully it will make me a much stronger person..insyaallah.

Maybe BABIES
Just when I thought that everything was going on smoothly for me, something happened on Friday night. After work, I decided to scout around for pressies for 2 birthday parties that I was invited on Saturday. After walking around for quite sometime and gotten all the pressies, I decided to head home. That's when I felt a sharp pain on the left side of my abdomen. I sat down and rested for a while. Wanted to cab home but the queues are long everywhere..considering it's a Friday nite and you're smack in the middle of town. So slowly I made my way to the train station and headed home.
Upon reaching home, eased myself and how shocked I was when I saw my pantyliner soaked in browish reddish blood! Called darl who was outside during that time doing wedding deco. Everyone advised me to keep calm and rest in bed.
The next day, we went to see dr. aziz. Told him about my condition and all. Time for the scanning. And guess what? We saw TWO babies on the screen! Yes not ONE but TWO! I'm expecting TWINS! We were speechless! Mixed feelings all rolled into one. Then came the sad news. When the doc zoomed in on the babies, he could detect heartbeat on the the bigger baby but on the smaller baby there was no heartbeat at all.
We were told not to pin our hopes too high on getting both twins. But he'll definitely try his best to save at least one of the twins. I was given a jab on my bum and some medication to help support my pregnancy and was given 1 week MC to rest at home.

I'm feeling great now in fact I dun even feel pregnant at all! It kinda scare me a little bit and makes me looking forward to visit my favorite person (for this 9 mths or so) even more. My appetite is coming back slowly but surely..and no more painful cramps or backaches..syukur alhamdulillah!
I do get the occassional constipation but I guess that's quite normal. But one thing for sure is that I just CAN'T STAND the smell/smoke of cigarettes! It's funny coz I used to smoke myself but now I just abhor it!
I'm also trying to tell Anaqin that he'll b having a sibling soon..and address the baby as ADIK. So once in a while I encourage him to rub my tummy and say hello to ADIK. :)

The First Phrase
My pregnancy this time round starts off quite rough compared to my first one. Started off being sick..achy body and my temperature rise esp at nite. And I couldnt even eat anything! My appetite is completely zilch. Which leads to bad stomach cramps. It was so bad last nite, that I nearly contemplated to go to the hospital. But instead I made myself a mug of milo coz I didnt have anything to eat for dinner and breakfast and just had a sandwich for lunch. It calmed my tummy a bit but as I was about to drift off to sleep, the pain started again. I guess the milo wasnt enuff to fill up my empty tummy esp now that I have to SHARE it with someone else :) So I got up and make myself another cup of milo. That did the trick and I settled down after that.
This morning as I went to have my shower, I asked my helper to make me a mug of milo just to play it safe. Alhamdulillah, my tummy doesnt hurt that much now. On the way to work, I bought a carton of HL milk and had a glass of that. Right now, I'm nibbling on Meiji's Plain Cracker just to keep my tummy full. I planned to have salad (with loads of greens) for lunch later but hvn't decide on what to eat for dinner. Maybe just plain crackers and hot milo. So far, I hv not vomited though I feel nausea at times esp if when I smell food. Hopefully this phrase will end soon so that I can enjoy the rest of my pregnancy..insyaallah.

This is the mantra I've been repeating to myself lately plus seeking solace from HIM.
When things go wrong as they sometimes will,

Alektorophobia
Alektorophobia: An abnormal fear of chickens which may be a result of the fear of feathers, of winged creatures, or of flying animals or birds. Such fears may also include eggs or live, or dead, chickens. A few reasons include fears of being pecked, swooped upon, and because they roost above eye level or that they eat food from the ground or manure piles which may contaminate the bird. Yea..sememangnye aku takut ngan burung, ayam and sume yg sewaktu dgn nye! I just came back from lunch and hold and behold..there were so many freaking pigeons roaming around. I tell you..these pigeons are damn HUGE tau..da ala2 ayams gitu..takut kan! So as I was walking down the stairs..these pigeons yg tadinye sedang tergelek-gelek..tiba2 flew rite in front of my face! Hah kau..terpanjat aku sekejapan! Nak pekik pon suara tak sempat nak kluar..
Anyway people find it weird that I'm afraid of them birds & chickens..tapi apa bleh buat..da mmg aku takut. Believe or not I'm even afraid of kaki ayam and the kepala ayam (yg da mati ler)! I still remember last time when we were young, my sista Lynn used to chase me around the house wif kaki ayam! Kesian kan aku..kecik2 da kena bully ngan adik sendirik! *bluek* Just recently, darl tried to be funny and showed me a kaki ayam that he grabbed from the kitchen and I screamed mcm nampak hantu upon seeing that! Anaqin just gave me a quizzical look! Haizzz..if only you knew my fear son..then you'll understand..

Batam Trip
Sooo..I've abandoned my blog for quite sometime now..the reason being, we went for a short trip to Batam during the Vesak hols and I took 3 days leave just to chill at home. It's gonna be another short entry coz I'm gonna enjoy what's left of my leave days.

Female Bonding Session
It was another female bonding session for us. Had great lunch prepared by the gracious host Lynn and New York pizzas compliments of Sab. Yours truly brought along mini tiramisu as dessert. We had a great time catching up in such relaxing ambience and company. Thank you babes for your advanced birthday pressies and thanks to Lynn for all that stuff from OZ.

Recovering
Syukur alhamdulillah..Anaqin is recovering at the moment from the nasty bug. A day after he got hit by the bug, he got constipated as well. It pained us to see him in that condition...crying whenever there's the urge to pass motion but couldnt do it as the stools has become too hard that it's just too painful for him. Got him to sit on his potty and eventually the hard stools finally came out. He was totally exhausted after the cruel ordeal and slept right after.
I've read somewhere that once a child becomes constipated and has hard and painful stools, he will then begin to hold in his bowel movements to prevent it from hurting again. This creates a cycle that makes the constipation continue and become worse. And that's exactly what's happening with Anaqin at the moment. I think he's holding his bowel movements thus making him constipated again. I've decreased his milk formula and totally no more cereals at the moment (I used to add Frisocrem into his milk formula as he do not like to eat). Though he drinks lots of water..he still got constipated. We're gonna monitor him and if his constipation continues, we'll heed to the pediatrician for further advise and medication.

Nasty Bug
Shucks..the nasty bug has landed. I first noticed Anaqin sneezing frequently last nite and his nose started to water slightly. After his last milk feed, he slept and around 1 plus in the morning, he woke up crying and coughing and eventually vommited. Darl cleaned up the bedspread, and change it while I put on a fresh PJ on Anaqin, rubbed some vicks on his chest and back and he drifted off to sleep soon after. But that's not the end of it..every 1 hour or so, Anaqin would wake up, crying maybe due to his blocked nose and we have to pacify him to sleep.
Both me and the husband are light sleepers therefore whenever Anaqin stirs, we woke up as well ... thus making us feel like zombies the morning after. Sms my boss & told her I'm taking the morning off coz I need to send Anaqin to the doc. Darl on the other hand took the whole day off. Our trip to the doc had to be postponed for a while as it was pouring outside. Once the weather has subsided, off we went. Got a whole load of medication for Anaqin and afterwards I make my way to the office while Darl brought Anaqin and my helper home.
Hopefully Anaqin's able to sleep well tonite and recover soon...insyaallah..

Long Relaxing Weekend
Here's a quick re-cap of the long weekend:- Friday Wasnt feeling too well..felt the fever creeping up last nite so the whole day I was all nicely bundled in my sweater. Weather outside has been raining thus making it a really cool day.
Saturday Felt slightly better. I tried my hands at making tiramisu (virgin attempt). It's basically similar like cheesecake and there's no baking involved. Later in the afternoon went to a wedding then at night to Sheng Shiong.
Sunday Had steamboat cum bbq @ home in conjunction with 2 birthdays celebration. Then it was time to present my tiramisu..luckily i managed to tip out the tiramisu without making too much of a mess. Taste wise, alhamdulillah..everyone seemed to like it.. :)

Quiet Weekend
It was a quiet weekend. Spent time with my precious Anaqin..watching Chicken Little, The Incredibles or Wallace & Gromit movies back to back. I also tried my hands on making cream puffs..recipe graciously given by her. But it was such a dissapointment. The puffs flopped and didnt rise at all! Seeing the result, I just stopped making the rest of the batter. Oh well, there's always another time to try it out.. :)

Long Nite Out
On Saturday afternoon, went to visit my mak long (late dad's side) at GH. She was warded last week and is now in ICU. It saddened me to see her in that condition coz she's always appeared to be healthy. And looking at her reminds me so much of my late dad. Anyway, after the hospital visit, we went to Yatie's baby cukur rambut @ Eunos. It was held under the void deck. Didnt get to take shots of her baby..coz baby bz kena pass around..so in the end, amik gambar wif my sista's latest addition..the ever growing liyana..ehe.

Afterwards, we went to have supper @ KTM. Left the house ard midnite and guess what time we came back home? 6am!! Coz after supper the guys decided to play biliard at East Coast. It was another FUN outing I had with with my siblings and their other halfs..we should do this often guys!

The Engagement
After much preparation..the day has come. On Sunday 26 March..my brother Apit finally tied the engagement knot to his long time girlfriend..Fida.

Typical Saturday Afternoon (4th Mar 06)
Salams sume. This is Anaqin reporting for Saturday's entry. After my morning shower & feed, saya suka golek-golek atas katil mommy saya sambil menonton playhouse disney channel.
During commercial break saya panjat atas katil dan cuba nak mencapai frame yg besau tu..nie la gambar mommy dan daddy saya..tapi asal muka saya takde dalam gambar tu ek..hmm..sungguh tidak adil!
Soon I got tired of watching TV and decided to check out the dresser.
But then I heard mommy screamed NO!! Eleh baru nak bongkar dalam laci tu..da kena pekik..boring sungguh!
In the meantime, mommy baked some browines wif hazelnuts..yums yums cam sodap gitu bunyi nye..ehe..
But saya cuma rasa tu browines cikit aje..coz maklom lar nak jaga badan..nanti kalau makan byk sgt..put on weight..then no stamina to run around the house how?..eheheh..

I think Anaqin has turned into a SNAG - Sensitive New Age Guy! Below are 2 separate incidents that happened last week.

I called home to check on Anaqin. He answered the phone.

VM: Hello baby..baby wat apa?
SNAG: Ar?? hmmm .....
VM: Baby da mamam?
SNAG: Daaa...rice
VM: Ok la baby I've got to go...bye baby ... i love u!
SNAG kept quiet. VM tried again..
VM: i love you baby..byeee..
SNAG: lov u too..*then started crying*

Darl called yesterday while I was entertaining Anaqin.

DADDY: Hellooo baby...baby da mamam?
SNAG: Daaa..
DADDY: Baby tak watch Wallace?
SNAG: Tooonn???..hmmm..
DADDY: Go and ask mommy to on ok..
SNAG getting emotional (coz normally it's the daddy who on the dvd for him)
SNAG: Daddy daddy..
DADDY: Yes baby..
SNAG kept quiet trying to control his tears..
DADDY: Ok baby..I love you..
SNAG..lov u too...*then started to cry*

The Curse of The Were-Rabbit *UPDATED*
It's been a curse alrite..coz eversince darl introduced this DVD to Anaqin..he's been HOOKED on it lah!! This is his bedtime movie now..before he goes to sleep and celik mata pagi he will asks us to play this movie again. Hai jgn terperanjat..lama-kelamaan mommy dia hafal the script of the movie...ekrkekrekr..

Right now I'm searching high and low for other Wallace & Gromit series so at least tak lar boring tengok the same movie over and over again. I tried Borders but sadly they do not carry any other Wallace & Gromit series except for the movie. Anyone can tell me where I can get my hands on this?

I called them yesterday and yesss they've got stock for Wallace & Gromit In Three Amazing Adventures dvd! So hubz went to buy it as it's nearer to him and at night when we showed Anaqin the dvd, he got all so excited la! eheheh..and dengan tidak berlengah-lengah lagik..we on the dvd for him. Sebenarnye mommy dia pon excited jugak nak tengok..ehehehe..and oh yes daddy dia lagik over...once dia da belik tu dvd..pat keje dia jugak dia on to watch..ehehe..haii..looks like the whole family is now hooked on Wallace & Gromit!

Saturday Afternoon
Salams sume. This is Anaqin reporting for Saturday's entry. After my morning shower & feed, saya suka golek-golek atas katil mommy saya sambil menonton playhouse disney channel.
Hah!! Ini la channel yg saya sukaaa...best tau kawan-kawan..
During commercial break saya panjat atas katil dan cuba nak mencapai frame yg besau tu..nie la gambar mommy dan daddy saya..tapi asal muka saya takde dalam gambar tu ek..hmm..sungguh tidak adil!
Soon I got tired of watching TV and decided to check out the dresser.
Hmm..look what we have here..
But then I heard mommy screamed NO!! Eleh baru nak bongkar dalam laci tu..da kena pekik..boring sungguh!
In the meantime, mommy baked some browines wif hazelnuts..yums yums cam sodap gitu bunyi nye..ehe..
But saya cuma rasa tu browines cikit aje..coz maklom lar nak jaga badan..nanti kalau makan byk sgt..put on weight..then no stamina to run around the house how?..eheheh..
Till we meet again...saya mintak diri dulu yeee.. and oh yes do wish me luck for my upcoming 18mth jab..*grit teeth*
